Japanese language programs for foreign learners who are interested in studying Japanese.

- Intensive Program – MEXT scholarship students (Embassy Recommendation)
- General Program – International students (including exchange students) or researchers of Nagasaki University
*Foreign spouses of the enrolled students, researchers and/or full-time employees of Nagasaki University may take some of the classes (ElementaryⅠandⅡonly).

Intensive Program A–C
Intensive programs are for students on MEXT (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology) scholarships. There are three (3) programs (A, B and C) based on the student’s Japanese level. The students will need to take seven (7) classes a week and complete all courses in the program to receive a certificate of completion.

General Program
The General Program offers classes of various levels from elementary to advanced level. You will take a class of the suitable level based on the results of your placement test. The numbers in parentheses show the number of class offered per week.

*International undergraduate students and undergraduate exchange students may take Advanced JapaneseⅠ Reading and Advanced JapaneseⅠ Integrated Communication Skills only in the Fall semester. You may take Advanced Japanese Ⅰ offered by the Liberal Arts Education in Spring semester.

*Advanced Japanese Ⅱ Integrated Communication Skills A, B, C and D are not available for international undergraduate students and undergraduate exchange students. You may take Advanced Japanese Ⅱa/b offered by the Liberal Arts Education.
Japanese Language Program for Liberal Arts Education
“Japanese Language Program for Liberal Arts Education” is for international undergraduate students. Undergraduate international students can also take this course if they have a suitable level of Japanese.
