Overseas Travel Insurance

To prepare for an unforeseen incident that might require a surgery or a medical treatment, it is necessary to carry travel insurance. At Nagasaki University, students are required to purchase travel insurance before traveling abroad. Please check the content of your insurance coverage before traveling and be aware that the medical expense can be extremely high without insurance.

OSSMA / OSSMA Plus

To support the increasing number of students traveling abroad, we implemented Overseas Student Safety Management Assistance (OSSMA) in our student support system. OSSMA provides assistance 24 hours 365 days in both English and Japanese. OSSMA is not an overseas travel insurance, and you need to purchase your own travel insurance in addition to the OSSMA membership. OSSMA Plus includes medical expense support on top of the student assistance service. Although OSSMA Plus provides medical expense support, you still need to purchase an additional insurance that covers death, liability for damages and travel delay. Insurance which provides aforementioned coverage will be introduced after you register for OSSMA Plus.

①OSSMA

OSSMA offers help finding hospitals and choosing means of transportation or flight in case of emergency. It is not an insurance, and you need to purchase your own travel insurance 。to compensate for the cost of your hospital visits, medical exams, surgeries, counseling, attorney fees, or the fees for the negotiator in case of abduction.
