Nagasaki University International Winter Program

Nagasaki University welcomes students who wish to “fell” Nagasaki through Japanese language lessons and cultural experiences!

1. Program contents
・Program period:
　 February 6, 2020 to February 20, 2020 (arrival　and departure day included)
・Japanese language lessons for beginners (90min x 18)
・Special lectures under the theme of Japan and Nagasaki (90min x 2)
・Cultural experiences (90min x 5) :
Japanese Tea Ceremony, Kimono-wearing, Traditional Music, Flower Pressing, Sushi Making Experience
・Overnight field trip, city tour etc.

2. Maximum Capacity of the Program

　　　30 students （on a first-come basis）

3. Requirements

　 i. Students who are enrolled at overseas universities　
ii. To take out overseas travel insurance which covers the whole period of the program
iii. To have a sufficient English language skills to attend English-taught classes (Special Lectures)
iv. Applicants must not have Japanese language study history

*Participants are required to know how to write Hiragana and Katakana before their arrival.

4. Participation Fee: 95,000 JPY (tax included)

　 Participation fee covers:　
Tuition (including fees regarding Cultural Experiences and Field Trips) and accommodation

Participants will stay either at Nagasaki University’s dormitory or a hotel, and not able to choose
their accommodation type and room type*. *You may be allocated in a shared room.
There may be a possibility of accommodation change during the program. In this case, university
staff will support their check-in/out.

*Participation Fee does not include fees for flight, insurance, pick-up and drop-off at the airport
*Participants should pay travel expenses to Nagasaki University, overseas travel insurance,
and the cost of meals on their own.

5. Application Documents

Documents listed below should be submitted through applicant’s home university by
December 18, 2019 (Japan time).

　i. Application form
ii. Certificate of Enrollment issued by applicant’s home university (in English)
iii. Copy of passport
iv. Proof of the entry of overseas travel insurance (Recommend you to purchase insurance only AFTER
we confirm your participation. And the proof of travel insurance should be submitted by Jan. 20, 2020）
